The FlowMeter is an instrument for assessing the subjective experience of flow by Mihály Csíkszentmihályi. For this purpose, the Flow-Meter uses the flow short scale by Rheinberg et al.. At the same time the FlowMeter is able to record heart data by HR chest strap (e. g. the Zephyr HxM Smart or BioHarness3 BTLE). The recorded data (e. g. the results of the questionnaire and RR intervals) can be transferred as a file via iTunes or uploaded to Dropbox.
The app "FlowMeter" is a working result of the BMBF-project "Flow-Mashines: Body movement and Sound", insofar as its idea emerged out of the project context. It was developed by Simon Bogutzky outside working hours and was made available for the flow research.
Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
